Notified when…

• the user is mentioned on a page or task
• any comment on a page if the user has notifications set to All comments for a page.
• someone invite you to see a page
• mentioned in a reminder as a person
• create a reminder, in blocks or in data property
• mentioned in a reminder as time when you have access to the page??
• the user is added to a database in the Person field of a row (the user is notified once per cell where he is added, if we add a user in 3 rows in a property type person, he is notified times note: if you remove the user from the field and add again, the user is notified again, if you remove and add a third time, is not notified anymore
• database automation is triggered — but who and when?

Note:

• Its possible to create comments in:

  • page
  • block
  • text
  • note: You can't comment on multiple blocks at a time. However, you can select text across multiple blocks and leave a comment via the menu that appears.

• if we create a comment, a notification goes to the users with access to the page?

  • if the comment is deleted the notification in the inbox will disappear for computer and mobile
  • the notification sent via the mobile app as a push notification will not disappear even if the notification in the inbox is no longer there

• in the comments panel, if we create a new comment will be added on top, if there is an answer to an elder comment, this one will not move, until you close and open the panel again, then the comment will go up to appear in the corresponding order considering that they are in order considering newer comments or replies

• A comment that belongs to a text or block that is deleted, will be deleted as well but the notification will remain in the inbox, the system may allow to reply via the inbox but will not be taken into account and the comments panel will neither have the reply

• Guests CANNOT make mentions on groups only members can

When you set a reminder, you'll be notified at the chosen time in a few ways:

• You'll see a red badge pop up next to Inbox at the top of your left sidebar.
• If you have the desktop Notion app, you'll receive a push notification immediately.
• If you have the mobile Notion app, you'll receive a push notification within 5 minutes.
• If Notion isn't open at the time of your reminder, you'll get a mobile push notification (if you have the app) and an email.

the inbox

The Inbox at the top of your sidebar gathers updates from across your workspace. These updates are organized by page, so you can see all of the updates related to a specific page in one place. You’ll see an update in your inbox when:

• Someone @-mentions you or replies to your comment or you have notifications set to All comments for a page.
  • IMPORTANT NOTE: in this case, both parts receive a notification, the person who is destined for the reminder receives a notification when the reminder is created and when it is triggered, and then, the person who created the reminder only when it is triggered.
  • How can I trigger a reminder for someone else on my team? The best way to do this is to use an @-mention and @-remind on the same line. For example: " @Camille Ricketts @remind next Thursday 4pm to finish proofreading."
• You're added to a Person property in a database.
• You've set a reminder for yourself, or someone else has set a reminder for you.
• You're invited to a page.

If you have the Notion desktop or mobile app installed:

• You'll get a desktop push notification 10 seconds after someone @-mentions you.
• You'll get a mobile push notification if you don't view a mention within 5 minutes, or if you don't have Notion open on your device. // not sure cos I'm getting all notifications in mobile and desktop always no mater what
